Abstract
Restorative justice holds promise as an alternative to punitive approaches in the juvenile justice system, offering effective means of addressing criminal actions while promoting accountability and reconciliation. This paper explores the implementation of restorative justice in Indonesia’s legal landscape, examining its potential benefits, challenges, and regulatory frameworks. Through a normative juridical approach and qualitative analysis of legal documents and literature, the study underscores the importance of enhancing understanding and skills among law enforcement agencies, particularly the Attorney General’s Office, in effectively applying restorative justice principles. By upholding values of justice, decency, and
morality, the Attorney General’s Office can play a pivotal role in fostering a more humane and efficient criminal justice system that serves the interests of society as a whole.
