I’ve used the fix-it and reinstalled. I’ve tried restore points. I’ve used the offline and online available repair options. I’ve simply uninstalled Office and reinstalled. Yes, it does install; however, it jitters and freezes on the Welcome to Microsoft Office screen.

I’ve used task manager to end that task. Office programs will either not open at all or will freeze after opening. It seems my only option is to uninstall Office again and Reset. Who wants to do that? It gives you a list of the drivers and such you need to reinstall.

What good is system restore? Thanks for this – and, sad to relate, I’ve already tried a complete new download and restore – twice!. In fact I now recall that the only reason I migrated from Office to was because I had the opportunity to have a very good deal on it. In a way I always regretted it, since there were things about Office that I really liked.

Office is one of them, Windows XP was another; Windows 7 wasn’t bad. I also find that Excel has remained consistently good throughout its history. So, I’m not sorry to go back to Office I’d be tempted to go for Outlook , but don’t know whether I’d do better with that than with that I am with And I don’t want to spend money when I don’t really need to.
